Meet the group in Turin, where we will spend a day experiencing the historic city. We’ll then head east to discover the Timorasso revival happening in Derthona. Then, we’ll head to Alba where we will feast upon truffles, visit the wineries of Barolo and Barbaresco, and immerse ourselves in the food and wine of this special place. All along the way, we’ll learn about the wine history of the Piemonte, including the region’s influence on American cuisine. 

Adventure Level: Medium - we’ll visit vineyards, and there will be a vineyard walk or two. 

Meals: Meals will be mostly a mix of rustic semi-casual restaurants, with at least 1 fancy meal. This trip is timed to match white truffle season, so come prepared to eat lots of white truffles! 

Clothes: The Piedmont is business casual- think buttondowns, vests, slacks. You will want sneakers or boots for visiting the wineries, and you’ll want layers for the hot days and cold nights. It will likely be more chilly than hot. Bring one nice outfit appropriate for a Michelin star restaurant.
