This beauty of a sparkler from just off the Mediterranean coast near Barcelona never fails to stir our souls! Farmed from small vineyards of indigenous grape varieties grown around the winery, then aged in an historic cellar surrounded by gardens bursting with greenery and roamed by peacocks, this wine is a cultural landmark of the region. Nearby, you'll find homage to the famous UNESCO Catalan castells, or 'human towers,' and a museum dedicated to the late local Pablo Casals-- one of the greatest cellists of all time.

This Cava has a deep pear-like fruit from the Catalan sun that shines forcefully on the coast and ripens the grapes to juicy, jewel-like berries that, when illuminated by the rays, glow like drops of amber as they await harvest on the ancient, gnarly bush-trained vines. You'll also taste a bright, almost saline, flintiness that comes from the Xarel-lo grapes and the rocky, sun-baked terroir. The bubbles climb the glass in a joyous tiny perlage, reminding us of the castells that capture the hearts and minds of the region each year ... Arm yourself with healthy amounts of Manchego and Spanish olives before opening this bottle, and prepare to be stunned.
