Vincent and Tania met while Vincent (after studying to be a winemaker) was working harvests in Tania’s home region in South Africa. During four consecutive harvests there, Vincent fell in love with South Africa and with his future wife. In 1999 the couple returned to Vincent’s home place in the Loire and started their own winery with five hectares. Their winery there now spans 37 acres in Vouvray, Vernou-sur-Brenne and Noizay. Terre Brûlée is their project in South Africa’s Swartland. Founded in 2013 Vincent & Tania source there fruit and rent winery space to make the Chenin Vincent started thinking about during his time working there in the 90’s. As with their Loire wines, the grapes are hand harvested, whole bunch pressed, and fermented with native yeasts. We are huge Chenin fans and this one is full of lovely honey/suckle and citrus.
