Santa Barbara Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio
The return of an old favorite! When the father of Stefano Antonucci (present owner/winemaker) needed a larger facility, the only suitable building available for sale in the town of Barbara was the old convent (named Santa Barbara after an early Roman Christian martyr) which had been abandoned by the nuns. Hence the winery's name -- No connection with California! Strict vineyard management means that even this, Antonucci's entry-level wine, remains true to its varietal and to the great tradition of winemaking in the Marche. Contained in the traditional amphora-shaped bottle, which is also fun! This is a terrific wine for fish or chicken or any warm-weather meal. Also great by itself. Welcome back!
