Milan Nestarec OKR1L

The first vines that the Nestarec family started to work with grew on a tiny plot that was returned to them as post-Soviet restitution in the early 1990s.  Milan’s father Milan Nestarec Sr. entrusted him with all the winemaking when Milan was barely 16 years old (which makes him quite an experienced young winemaker now at only 33 years of age)  Inspired by his encounters with international natural winemakers, he made the switch to organic farming and low-intervention winemaking in 2008, and has since become a leader in the natural wine world.  OKR is his take on a "drinkable" orange wine with moderate skin contact and a texture that doesn't overwhelm the taste buds. A light floral note in the aromatics, citrus and pleasant herbs on the palate, this is one of the most approachable of Nesterec's wines we've come across. Cofermented on the skins for a week, then aged on the lees in old wood and stainless for about a year. Unfined, unfiltered, no SO2.
