We’ve heard Aglianico referred to as “The Barolo of the South.” This grape has a great tannic structure and acidity that makes wine of age-worthy potential. Part of what makes Aglianico so special is the volcanic soil it's grown in. This imparts an electricity to wine which balances its often heavy tannins. Translated “hills of sunshine,” Colline del Sole’s iteration has a deep ruby color and aromas of black cherry, raspberry, espresso, and violets. Amazing with older cheeses or red meat. This wine is also farmed near pizza capital, Naples.
