This is a new wine to our shelf and one that we fell in love with at first sip.
Juan Jesus is a native of Tenerife and a fourth generation grower there. He is also a professor of viticulture and enology. In the vineyards, he and his wife Elena Batista have focused on the preservation of indigenous grape varieties. They have worked, along with others, to identify and preserve 80 varieties native to the Canary Islands. The grapes for this blend are all harvested and vinified separately and the result is an aromatic wine with pretty stone and tropical fruits and the “smoky” quality the volcanic solid of the Canary Islands are known for.
